Dania Jissel Ramirez is a Dominican-American actress. She portrays Hannah Perez during the first season of CBS All Access' Tell Me A Story.[1]

Biography[]

Ramirez was born on November 8, 1979 in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. As a young child, she knew that she wanted to be an actress, in fact, she would often reenact telenovelas for her family. At the age of 15, Ramirez was discovered by a modeling scout while working in a convenience store. She was subsequently cast in a small part in a soda commercial. It wasn't until after this gig that she decided to pursue acting seriously. So she studied at the Actor's Workshop in New York City under Flo Greenberg. In 2001, She graduated from Montclair State University, where her volleyball talents led her to be placed among the top five in career digs, digs/game, solo blocks and total blocks. Afterward, she moved to Los Angeles to further pursue her acting career.

Ramirez made her television debut in 2003, as Caridad, in the American supernatural drama Buffy the Vampire Slayer, which initially aired on The WB. She appeared in 3 episodes. One of Ramirez's larger roles came in 2007, where she landed a starring role as Maya Herrera in NBC's American science fiction television drama Heroes. She has also appeared in numerous other television series and films, such as X-Men: The Last Stand, The Sopranos, and Entourage.

In 2013, Ramirez landed a leading role in Lifetime's Devious Maids as Rosie Falta, going on to star alongside Ana Ortiz, Roselyn Sanchez and Judy Reyes until the show's untimely cancellation in 2016. The following year, Ramirez was cast in a main role in ABC's Once Upon a Time, being one of many new faces to join the seventh and final season, a partial reboot of the series.

While she is mainly know her her acting career, Ramirez has also appeared in numerous music videos, including Jay-Z's Streets is Watching, which was released in 1998 and LL Cool J's Hush, which was directed by her then fiancè, Jessy Terrero and released in 2005.
